So I got this email from Ryan at a company I will not disclose (to be nice).
Would you be interested in selling some advertising on your vast array of sites to us?
If so, I have some advertisers who are interested, with budgets of potentially $1,000+ per month per site to you. Call or email to discuss further, and I’ll let you know what I had in mind.
Have a good one.
So I emailed back:
Hi Ryan,
Sure I am interested. Can you tell me what sites you are representing that would want to be on my sites?
Dave,
Out biggest advertiser right now is CafeMom.com.
[Company name] will supply your viewers with Interstitial Ads. For Interstitial Ads, we pay on Cost Per View (CPV). The revenue you gain should be incremental to any of the other advertising you have on your site.
The sign-up process literally takes minutes to complete.
One a side note, I saw your video of dinner with Michael Chiarello and that is awesome. I’m a big Food Network / Food TV and really enjoy his take on Italian cuisine. I also liked his appearance on the Top Chef Celebrity edition last year.
If you have any questions, please contact me via phone or email.
I don’t want to waste my time so I write:
Ryan,
Before I sign up, how much do you pay – ballpark?
Looking at all the stats from those sites, you would be looking at $50-$100/day based on your numbers. That would be incremental to the revenue you currently generate from ads currently on your site.
I looked at your advertiser’s site and I am not sure it is a good match for the niches I am in. What do you think?
Do we have any other advertisers besides CafeMom? If not, I will sell him on CaféMom. I will pull up the demographics for CafeMom and make them look favorably for his sites.
Oops. I don’t think you intended this for me Ryan.
