Pubcon 2008 Conference - Satya Nadella Keynote

I thought this was kind of amusing, I am sitting in the audience during Satya Nadella Keynote at PubCon 2008 yesterday and I am looking at my Twitter account every so often like most people in the audience and then I see a series of twitter posts from Danny Sullivan (below) come in at the same time. Danny was ranting about Microsoft branding issues.

I am not saying Danny did this on purpose (since he was not at the conference) but looking over the shoulder of the person in front of me (photo above) and other people, I could see people reading Danny’s posts like I was. So in a way it felt like he was in the room almost hijacking the session.

Amazing how powerful Twitter has become.

Danny Sullivan Rants his Twitters during Satya Keynote

I was signing up for a Cracked.com account and saw this. Of course I had to check the box.

Before I get my new Iphone I thought it would be interesting to take note of the bandwidth I am using on my Treo 700 phone.

I normally like to go down to the town hall with the crowds to vote (it is exciting, I remember doing this with my oldest when she was only 1), but this time it was nice to vote at the breakfast table with the wife and discuss each item.

Here is my oldest mailing our Colorado ballots near Safeway.

For over a year now I have been trying to cancel my account from Scotttrade because a hacker got in their system and stole a bunch of credit cards.

I had to change all my bank accounts and since I had zero trust with them after that I tried to close my account.

But they keep sending me statements and tell me that I have to log in and verify data. I have called their local Boulder CO office 3 times but they still have not done it.

The last time I call was about a month ago and I told the guy just to take my 32 cents and keep it so he could close it. He wanted to send me a check, I told him not to bother.

But yet I got another email yesterday from Scottrade telling me:

Your latest monthly statement is available online for your review. Our records indicate you have not logged in since your latest statement was posted.

I wish they could delete, purge my account. I don’t want someone else getting my bank information again.

Update 10/21/08: I got a nice email from Scottrade saying they officially zeroed-out and closed my acct in September 2008. “The latest e-mail you received was part of a quarterly statement that includes the month of September. You should no longer receive statements in the future.”
