It had been many months since I visited my MetaCafe videos to see what kind of views they have been getting and I was surprised to see preroll ads appear automatically on my videos.

I went to look at my earning to see how much $ I have made and this is what I saw:

Not only that I when I tried to hit pause on the ad (because it was annoying) and instead of pausing my video it instead  took me to the site of the ad. Oh, that is so wrong!

MetaCafe what are you doing – you are shooting yourself in the foot as far as I am concerned.

I shot this video at SMX Advanced in Seattle earlier this week. I was sitting way in the back charging up my IPhone at the end of the day so I apologize for the shakiness.

I think I kept the video to one minute which fits within the SMX video policy, but I didn’t ask Matt Cutts for permission. So Matt if you are reading this I hope you don’t mind. I tried to ask you at the end of the session but I could never get inside the crowd to ask. If you want me to take it down I can do so.

Always interesting to hear Matt’s view when things fall into a gray area.
