Sony Vegas I Can’t Render MainConcept AVC/AAC MP4 Custom

For some reason I can not select the “Custom” button in Sony Vegas Platinum 8.0d edition build 139.

Since I can’t select it I can’t select all the parameter to match what Eric Franks does on Vimeo.com for a test I put together to see what my videos look like in HD.

Anyone have any ideas why? Do I need the Vegas Pro version?

I just got off the phone with Sony Creative and they said that I can’t get to the Custom button using Platinum version and I need to upgrade to pro.

I just learned that version 9 came out and I downloaded the free trial and it didn’t work there either for the Platinum version.

So now I am going to download the pro version to see if that works.

Looks like they have made some improvements for the AVC files in 9, but went I just tested it with an old file it does appear to be any faster on my computer.

I just did my first render using the parameters that Eric uses for his show with a trial version of Vegas 8 Pro.

No crashes on my Quad Core Intel 2.66GHz machine.

Now I just need to upload to Video to see how it does.

I called them back and they said that Pro 9 will probably not come out until next year.
